It gives me great pleasure to greet you in my new capacity as your newly elected Mayor in the oldest city chartered by Blacks in America. It is an honor to serve as the youngest female mayor in the history of Princeville and currently in the State of North Carolina, according to the North Carolina League of Municipalities stated (December 2002). I’m grateful to know that the citizens have enough confidence and trust to the vision that our new administration will carry out in the months to come. 

Our vision is to improve and enlarge the town of Princeville by bringing in businesses, industries, and enhancing the existing economic conditions. By doing so, this will bring about increased revenues for the town and at the same time decrease taxes and utilities.

The town’s board and staff will work conscientiously to network and use available resources to attain assistance through federal, state, private, and corporate means, which can bring Princeville into the full circle of economic growth.
